Anthropic, a startup focused on the development of artificial intelligence technology, has announced a successful Series C funding round, raising $450 million. Spark Capital led the round, which also included contributions from major companies like Alphabet, Zoom Video Comms, Salesforce Ventures, and Sound Ventures. This funding will be used by the company to expand its product line and support companies that will responsibly deploy Claude, its proprietary AI assistant, while advancing the field of AI safety research.
Anthropic aims to help enterprises enhance their AI capabilities with tools such as Claude, which can handle a variety of conversational and text-processing tasks. The company is working on several new features, including 100K context windows that can process hundreds of pages of data at once.
The funding round was led by Spark Capital’s Yasmin Razavi, who will be joining Anthropic’s Board of Directors to support the company’s growth efforts.
