Apple Inc. AAPL has exciting plans for 2024, including the introduction of “Apple GPT”, a 10-year anniversary special for the Apple Watch Series X, and larger iPhones.
What Happened: While 2023 has been an average year for Apple in terms of product launches, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman predicts a wave of new releases in 2024. Apple aims to enter the generative AI race with “Apple GPT” and develop a new large language model.

According to Gurman, “While the product lineup for 2023 will probably let Apple meet financial targets this holiday period, it really just serves as a stopgap for 2024, when larger changes are planned.”
Apple GPT: One of the key announcements for 2024 is “Apple GPT,” an internal name for Apple’s AI chatbot solution.
Apple is also developing its own large language model called Ajax to compete with Microsoft Corp. MSFT backed OpenAI, Alphabet Inc.’s GOOG GOOGL Google PaLM2 and Gemini, and Meta Platforms Inc.’s META LLaMA.
Apple Watch Series X: In 2024 or 2025, Apple is expected to launch the special 10-year anniversary Apple Watch Series X, delivering significant changes to the smartwatch industry.
Bigger iPhones: Apple plans to increase the screen size of the ‘Pro’ iPhones. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are anticipated to feature larger displays than their predecessors.
M3-Powered Macs: The highly-anticipated M3-powered Macs have been delayed until 2024, including the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, featuring 3-nanometer technology.
Other anticipated announcements include a refresh of the iPad lineup, with the iPad Pro undergoing its first design update in five years, as well as accessory upgrades.
