CIQ commits itself to certifying its entire suite of products and helping advance the success of its customers by promptly supporting the recent releases of Red Hat’s enterprise Linux distribution, Rocky Linux.

CIQ is a company that offers software infrastructure to support enterprises utilizing Rocky Linux. Recently, the company announced the certification of its suite of software products for the recently released Rocky Linux versions, Rocky Linux 9.2 and Rocky Linux 8.8. Certified CIQ products comprise Warewulf, Apptainer, the newly launched Fuzzball, and images that have become available through Mountain Repo, a service offering. CIQ also announced enterprise-grade professional support for both Rocky Linux versions.
Gregory Kurtzer, CEO of CIQ, developed Rocky Linux to replace CentOS. Rocky Linux is a Red Hat Enterprise Linux-compatible open-source operating system designed to become 100% bug-for-bug comparable with RHEL. Since CentOS 8 became end-of-life, Rocky Linux had become one of the most frequently adopted Linux distributions. As soon as Rocky Linux releases new versions, CIQ promptly supports and certifies its products to help its customers benefit from new features, bug fixes, and enhancements.

CIQ announced long-term support (LTS) for Rocky 9.2 which includes support for the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). LTS extends support to CIQ customers for Rocky Linux 9.2 for an additional 18 months beyond the community edition, providing additional assurance to customers that a trusted partner is available to support them within a guaranteed time frame.
Also, supported cloud images for Rocky 9.2 and 8.8 are immediately available for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cloud, with Amazon Web Services coming soon.
CIQ Mountain, now certified on Rocky Linux 9.2 and 8.8 available images, is a “mountain of solutions” that provides artifact and software delivery and lifecycle management for turnkey solution management and deployment at any scale. Recently launched, CIQ Mountain offers a set of certified and supported assets and turnkey solutions. CIQ Fuzzball also has been certified to run on Rocky Linux 9.2 and 8.8, bringing together enterprise-grade tooling and state-of-the-art in modern Performance Intensive Computing (PIC) technology.
Sandia National Laboratories is among the establishments that use Fuzzball and deploy it as part of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA)/Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) Program. NNSA is a semi-autonomous agency of the U.S. Department of Energy that enhances national security through the military application of nuclear science. Under the Vanguard Program, Sandia National Laboratories is tasked with investigating emerging technologies that can be applied to the ASC mission. CIQ is currently working with them to evaluate workload orchestration capabilities provided by Fuzzball and how to leverage them in a heterogeneous platform.
