Daniel R. Wesley’s exceptional management of the Emergency Medical Science Program earned him the title of the 2022 Faculty Person of the Year.
SPARTANBURG, SC, May 23, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Daniel R. Wesley joins the Marquis Who’s Who biographical registry. Daniel R. Wesley, with over a decade of experience in pre-hospital emergency medicine, has been recognized for his outstanding leadership of the Emergency Medical Science Program at Blue Ridge Community College. He teaches pre-hospital providers in training, ensures adherence to college, state, and national regulations, maintains the program’s accreditation with national and state accrediting bodies, facilitates trainings, and maintains partnerships with community entities. In recognition of his exceptional management of the program, he earned the 2022 Faculty Person of the Year title in his first year at the college, an honor he is incredibly proud of.
Mr. Wesley earned an Associate of Science in biology from Montreat College, a Bachelor of Science in emergency medical care, and a master’s degree in health science, both from Western Carolina University. He has several certifications, including as a paramedic, an EMS Educators Levelland Level 2 Instructor, a Level 2 Paramedic Instructor, a Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, and a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor. To remain active in his field, he is a member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the National Association of Emergency Medical Services Educators.
Prior to joining Blue Ridge Community College in 2021, Mr. Wesley served as a field training officer and lead senior paramedic 3 for Spartanburg EMS, and as a clinical preceptor and emergency medical technician for Western Carolina University. He attributes his success in all positions to his passion for helping others, a quality developed during his time as an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
Within the next five years, Mr. Wesley hopes to remain active in higher education and expand the scope of operations at the Emergency Medical Science Program at Blue Ridge Community College. As the paramedic program is set to double in size, it is an exciting time to lead the program. Ultimately, he aspires to become the dean or vice president of the school.
