Mr. Werner works as an electromagnetic compatibility engineer for IBM. He has been in this role since 2010 and is responsible for collaborating on the design, development, and maintenance of computer servers to ensure compliance and reliability in the global marketplace.
Mr. Werner earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from SUNY New Paltz in 2009. He also holds a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the same institution, which he earned in 2010. During his time at SUNY New Paltz, he worked as a retail associate at Toys ‘R Us and as a test engineer intern at Nexans. He also served as a teaching assistant in the disciplines of microwave circuits, electronics, and electromagnetics.
In addition to his academic achievements, Mr. Werner obtained a professional engineering license in the state of New York in 2015. He has also contributed numerous articles to professional trade journals and serves as an advisor on the Cybersecurity Program Board at Ithaca College.
Mr. Werner is the proud holder of over 100 patents. His recent patents include the retractable EMC protection patent, the adjustable attenuation wrap plug patent, and the optimized route planning for multiple travelers with the same destination patent. He has received various awards throughout his career, including the IBM Master Inventor Award in 2018 and the Outstanding Innovation Award for design and hardware innovation on z15 in 2020. He was also recognized with the Eminence and Excellence Award from IBM in 2016 and 2017. Mr. Werner leads a patent review board and has received awards for his contributions to reviewing and mentoring inventors every year from 2018 to 2022.
