Mr. Raffaeli achieved the ‘Argentina Barrel Aged Winery of the Year’ recognition from the New York International Wine Competition in 2020.
COROLLA, NC, May 23, 2023 – John J. Raffaeli Jr. has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who for his outstanding contributions to the fields of entrepreneurship, human capital, human resources, and education. The selection process takes into account several factors, including position, achievements, visibility, and prominence in the field of work.
For over ten years, Mr. Raffaeli has been the co-owner and president of C3 Investment Holdings LLC, which features a vineyard, winemaking, and real estate investment in Argentina and a whisky operation in Scotland. As a human capital expert and entrepreneur, he excels in his role. In addition, he is currently involved in the arts and entertainment through his subsidiary, National Pastime Productions LLC, which produced the stage play “A Lucky Life” about the legendary baseball player Lou Gehrig and his battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Mr. Raffaeli spent over three decades as a human resources executive. He held senior roles at Thomas Reuters, UBS, Salomon Brothers, and the Continental Can Company, dating back to 1976. At Thomas Reuters, he played a vital role in developing human capital policies to support the firm’s corporate strategy, chaired its global retirement committee, and served on its disclosure committee. At Salomon Brothers, Mr. Raffaeli was featured in a CNBC segment highlighting his successful implementation of the first large-scale, on-site managed healthcare network in the United States.
Mr. Raffaeli taught various courses to executive program and Master of Business Administration students in Thailand and other locations. He also served as a dissertation supervisor and career school instructor in New York and on several professional boards, including the board of directors for the University of Business and International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Raffaeli is also an accomplished author. He has written health-related articles for professional publications and served as a contributing editor of Managing Employee Health Benefits Magazine. Many of his published works have been cited in numerous national publications. He intends to complete his books and publish them in the future.
Mr. Raffaeli is active in several civic organizations, including America’s oldest patriotic organization, the Society of the Cincinnati, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the National Genealogical Society. He has served as the vice-chair of the board of trustees of the Mountbatten Internship Programme since 2011. He previously served on several boards, including King School, Literacy Volunteers, and the Child Guidance Center of Southwestern Connecticut. He was also the board’s vice-chair of the English-Speaking Union of the United States and the American International Accreditation Association. Notably, Mr. Raffaeli’s 18 years of service with buildOn was recognized when a school in Mali, Africa was named after him and his family. Mr. Raffaeli and his family funded five buildOn schoolhouses in developing countries, earning him the title of ‘Leader of the Movement’ from buildOn in 2016.
Mr. Raffaeli received his Bachelor of Arts in social science from Waynesburg University in 1975 and his Master of Science in industrial relations from West Virginia University in 1977.
Mr. Raffaeli was recognized as the ‘Argentina Barrel Aged Winery of the Year’ by the New York International Wine Competition in 2020. He was also honored with the ‘Blended Scotch Whisky of the Year’ by the New York International Spirits Competition in 2021. Mr. Raffaeli received the American Hero Award from the National Kidney Registry for his contribution to the community in 2017. He donated one of his kidneys to a needy patient.
