“As an artist, I believe that the tools we use in the web3 space must also address the real and immediate needs of our global community”
Musician Michael Go is releasing limited edition digital pressings of alternative versions of his singles “Do My Part” and “Check” from his first album, “Forgive Me Brother, I’m Leaving America”. The digital pressings feature a previously unreleased guest appearance by saxophonist and producer Evan Shay and are available through Berklee Valencia’s Disrupción Records on Serenade.co, a web3 music marketplace and community.
Michael Go is committed to giving back, and one Digital Pressing owner will be selected at random to win a free remote recording session with Michael, and all of his earnings from the sale will be donated to the Julia&Jade – KOSÃHA (FJUJA) Foundation’s fundraising campaign. The money raised will be used to install solar-powered water pumps needed to irrigate land on nine family-owned farms in Grand’Anse and Le Département de l’Ouest, Haiti.
Michael, a Montreal-based artist and producer, met the President and Vice President of FJUJA through playing traditional Haitian music as a percussionist in Montreal. He coordinated with them to donate oxygen concentrators to hospitals in the Grand’Anse region in July 2020 as part of the foundation’s Covid-19 relief efforts.
According to Michael, Serenade.co and platforms like it are demonstrating that there are new, unique, and interactive ways for artists to engage with their fans. As an artist himself, he believes that the platforms used in the web3 space should address the real and immediate needs of our global community, and all of his sales, whether physical or digital, have gone to support the FJUJA-KOSÃHA Foundation.
Michael’s music will be available on Serenade.co starting May 31 until all copies are sold out.
