Microsoft has launched an add-on for its productivity bundle aimed at enhancing productivity and creativity. Called Microsoft 365 Copilot, this new feature combines large language models with Microsoft 365 data to help users write, edit, and create better and faster, besides offering innovative solutions.

Microsoft 365 Copilot provides smart features in primary Microsoft apps, such as Word, where it can create a draft document based on a brief prompt or outline, summarize text or add content to existing drafts, rewrite parts or change the tone of a document and provide suggestions to enhance writing quality. Copilot can analyze data in Excel, generating charts and insights to help users dive deeper into the data. In PowerPoint, Copilot can design slides for a presentation topic or based on a bullet list, add images, icons, animations, transitions, and captions to slides, and summarize long presentations according to user specifications.
Users can chat with Copilot using normal conversation through Business Chat accessible from any Microsoft 365 app or desktop. Copilot brings together data from users’ email, calendar, documents, notes, contacts, and presentations.

Currently, Microsoft 365 Copilot is available on a paid preview basis to 600 invited customers only. However, users can explore AI capabilities offered by Microsoft while waiting for the general release of Copilot. For example, Bing AI Search offers powerful features for research and content creation.
