Leveraging his more than 10 years of experience in international commercial and investment disputes and arbitrations, Mohannad has earned a distinguished reputation as a counsel with Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. His practice is primarily focused on international commercial arbitration, international investment arbitration, and public international law. He has represented states, national oil companies, state-owned and commercial entities, and sovereign wealth funds in arbitrations across a wide range of sectors, including construction and infrastructure, natural resources, oil and gas, and transportation.
Besides his arbitration experience, he has also represented clients in joint venture and corporate disputes and has been deeply involved in corporate transactions in the oil and gas sector including major international oil companies (IOCs). He has been involved in numerous enforcement and other local proceedings arising from international arbitrations.
Prior to joining Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, Mohannad worked with local law firms in Libya and served as a teaching assistant for the University of Tripoli. He is a member of the bars of New York, Washington D.C., the U.S. Supreme Court, and numerous other U.S. federal courts, and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Before starting his professional journey, Mohannad earned a licentiate in law from Tripoli University in 2010 and a Master of Laws in International Business and Trade Law from Fordham University School of Law in 2011. He won an award for the highest academic achievement and the highest performance from the University of Tripoli in 2010.
