Mr. Tillotson is noted for his success as a serial entrepreneur and property management professional at Back Country Construction & Development (BCCD) since 2021. In a demanding role, he is responsible for managing more than 70 rental units, conducting walk-throughs to ensure all state codes are being met, signing leases, collecting rent checks, and, among other responsibilities, ensuring that the team has all the tools they need to perform their jobs effectively. Grateful for his promotion, Mr. Tillotson received no formal training and quickly became a tremendous asset to the team. He initially joined BCCD as a carpenter in 2021.
BCCD was founded in Bemidji, Minnesota, in 2019 as a property development company and provides building and remodeling services for residential and commercial properties. Included in its present portfolio, the company has focused on developing homes in Mountain View Meadows with several lots still available. BCCD notably holds a technology systems contractor license.
Crediting his success to his business experience, Mr. Tillotson has been a salon owner at Kut-N-Style and created House Commodities LLC, an online furniture store, since 2022. Starting off 2023 he created Tillotson Construction Company, a family-owned business. He also manages several other local organizations, including Greenhead Flight Services, Puddleduck Properties, Specklebelly Properties, Ridgeline Properties, 4th Street Lodge, and Bemidji M&M Properties since 2021. Looking toward future success, Mr. Tillotson aims to become more active in real estate and business consultation by purchasing several investment properties and helping people build or grow their own businesses and franchises.
Mr. Tillotson studied aeronautics, aviation, and aerospace science and technology and received credentials as a licensed rotorcraft private pilot from the University of North Dakota in 2013. He subsequently studied the same subject matter at Helicopter Academy in Pompano Beach, Florida, and received a second license as a rotorcraft commercial pilot in 2015.
Recognized for his success, Mr. Tillotson was featured in The Bemidji Pioneer, a local news source for news, weather, and sports in Bemidji and throughout the state. He also received a New Business in Bemidji Award from the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce.
