She joined the company in 2022 after gaining valuable experience in the field through various key positions with 3M, including Medical Science Liaison manager for USAC, 3M-KCI, and Crawford Healthcare from 2017 to 2022. Additionally, between 2012 and 2015, Dr. Dick gained international experience as a senior clinical field research specialist with Derma Sciences in Domestic, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
In her current role as a Medical Science Liaison and rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Dick manages physician relationships by meeting with providers to discuss scientific evidence and train them to participate in discussions on the company’s products. She also collaborates with internal partners, consulting with the firm’s marketing professionals, medical writers, and research and development experts to identify dynamic speakers and drive product innovations and appropriate outreach.
Dr. Dick’s impressive academic credentials have played a foundational role in her professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and a minor in biology from the University of Central Arkansas in 1997, followed by a Master of Science in physical therapy in 1999. In 2016, she completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy from The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota. Additionally, Dr. Dick is a designated certified wound specialist, specializing in wound management through the American Board of Wound Management. She is licensed as a physical therapist in Kentucky and was previously licensed in Texas and Illinois.
Dr. Dick’s commitment to higher education and outreach is also evident in her professional profile. She served as an adjunct instructor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 2005 to 2007, and from 2015 to 2017, she was a full-time faculty member and Associate Director of Clinical Education at Western Kentucky University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Currently, Dr. Dick serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, starting in 2017.
Dr. Dick has served two terms on the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy and has contributed to scholarly conversations in her field through the authorship of articles published in the Value in Health Journal and Meta-analysis and Literature Review in 2016. She has also co-authored a chapter on negative pressure therapy for integumentary management for a Wound Diagnosis and Treatment textbook. Additionally, Dr. Dick was honored with an award for outstanding contributions to the American Physical Therapy Association and was nominated for the Medical Science Liaison of the Year award from the Medical Science Liaison Society in 2019.
Through her affiliation with the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management within the American Physical Therapy Association, Dr. Dick collaborated on writing board specialization exams, contributing to the unique credential offered by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
