Thena, a customer communications and intelligence platform, which aids in managing customers on messaging platforms, such as Slack, has raised $5 million in seed funding, co-led by Lightspeed and First Round Capital.
Thena’s product enables B2B customer communications on messaging platforms, as it helps customer-facing teams manage clients in tools like Slack in ways that were previously not possible. It solves customer communication issues by providing analytics and insights into how customers interact with a company and by linking messaging platforms to tools like Zendesk, HubSpot, and Salesforce. The result is increased revenue, higher retention, efficient employees, and happier customers.
Founded in April 2022, Thena was co-founded by Ankit Saxena, Govind Kavaturi, Mike Molinet, and Unmukt Raizada. Mike Molinet, who co-founded Branch in 2014 and played a crucial role in the company’s growth and operational management, saw the potential in the market and decided to join Thena as a co-founder.
Ankit Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Thena, said, “Our AI models synthesize data across communication channels, equipping companies with their own fine-tuned models that enable them to make customer-centric decisions at scale and improve bottom line.”
Messaging platforms like Slack are quickly becoming the primary channel B2B organizations use to communicate with customers and prospects. Besides rapid response times and improved security compared to email, these platforms now occupy a central place in organizations’ customer communication journeys. However, the scale at which companies are now using messaging platforms such as Slack presents its own set of unique challenges, such as lack of organization, analytics, and integration with existing systems. Thena solves for this through its product.
Mike Molinet, co-founder of Thena, said, “Thena is different from any startup I’ve been a part of because there’s such a pull from the market that has naturally fallen into using Slack and Teams to engage with customers.”
Thena’s seed funding will primarily focus on scaling the product and recruiting top talent, capable of driving and supporting rapid company growth. The company’s pre-seed funding of $2.2 million was raised from Pear VC and Tenacity Venture Capital.
Lightspeed, First Round Capital, Pear VC, and Tenacity Venture Capital are backing Thena, which has raised more than $7 million in funding.
