Mary Trump, a psychologist and the niece of former President Donald Trump, has shared her thoughts on what the Democrats need to do to win the 2024 election during a recent podcast. Speaking on the “Burn The Boats” podcast, hosted by Ken Harbaugh, Trump argued that the Democrats must recognize that the choice between the two parties is now a choice between democracy and fascism in American society.
According to Mary Trump, pretending that Republicans are operating in good faith demoralizes the Democrats and is harmful to the American experiment. Despite her disagreements with some of President Joe Biden’s policies, she has refrained from criticizing the Biden administration, believing that their success is essential for American democracy. She emphasized that fighting for democracy does not mean becoming like the enemy and that Democrats should do everything in their power to win without cheating or stealing like Republicans do.
Mary Trump also criticized Biden for calling Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell a “good friend” and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy an honest man. She argued that the Republicans have burned the playbook and are no longer operating in good faith in any way, shape, or form. Instead, she asserted that Democrat’s need to fight hard to prevent the Republicans from turning America in the wrong direction, even if the Republicans are not willing to play by the same rules.
