Alabama voters to decide on a tax for medical marijuana in the upcoming election cycle
Members of Cullman County in Alabama will have to vote on whether to set up a 15 percent tax on any medicinal cannabis sold after receiving the green light from the Alabama Senate. The bill (HB 469) proposes including the question on the ballots in the upcoming 2024 cycle election instead of directly imposing a tax on medical cannabis.
North Carolina House to discuss medical marijuana
Senate Bill 3, also known as the North Carolina Compassionate Care Act, which calls for the legalization of medical cannabis, is up for discussion in the House Rules Committee and could become law soon.

Nevada lawmakers push for federal legalization of marijuana
Assemblyman Reuben D’Silva’s bill, which aims to legalize marijuana on a federal level, was passed by the Nevada Senate in an 18-3 vote. The bill emphasizes the many well-documented medical uses of marijuana and the need to remove it from the federal Controlled Substances Act, pointing out that marijuana is still classified as a Schedule I drug alongside heroin.
