Yasmine Sherif, with over 30 years of experience in law and international affairs, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who, considering her contribution to the relevant field. As the Executive Director of the United Nations Global Fund for Education in Emergencies & Protracted Crises’ Education Can Wait, she led her team to create an effective and speedy global fund for education. The program reached children and adolescents in more than 40 crisis-affected countries by mobilizing around $2 billion dollars. Before obtaining this position, she gained professional experience while working for various ventures like the United Nations, the International Rescue Committee, Long Island University, the International Bureau for Humanitarian Issues, and the International Committee of the Red Cross. She also holds a master’s degree in international law and legal studies from Stockholm University.
Throughout her career, she has been honored with the Golden Poet Award, the prestigious annual Sweden’s UN Friend Award, the My Hero Global Educator Award, the United Nations Association of the United States of America’s Brooklyn Chapter Award, and the prestigious Mother Teresa Social Justice Award. Ms. Sherif is the author of the book, “The Case for Humanity: An Extraordinary Session,” which was launched at the United Nations in New York in 2015 and became a bestseller. She aims to complete her second book, intended for a more extensive audience in the United States and globally, in the future.
